At Henson, we've been making parts for major aerospace projects for 20 years. When we make parts that end up in space, we make sure they are built to last. We've made major components for the OneWeb constellation and parts for the Exo Mars rover. It goes without saying that these parts cannot come back to the workshop for repairs, but must function for decades. Making parts that last a lifetime is part of our DNA.
Through some coincidences, we turned our attention to razors.
The end result is the AL13 razor. We make this razor from aluminium (which is the 13th element in the periodic table), and we pay close attention to very tight tolerances to control both blade extension and load. By minimising these geometries, we believe that the extra blade support will significantly reduce flex and chatter, and therefore irritation.
Our razor is manufactured at our aerospace facility in Ontario, Canada, and meets the same AS9100 aerospace standards required for satellite component manufacturing.
